New office IT: common questions
What IT does a new office need?
Most offices need the same core set: an internet line with a firewall, WiFi access points and a network switch, structured cabling to each desk, CCTV and door access, a computer and Microsoft 365 account per staff member, antivirus, a NAS for shared files and backup, a UPS, and a network printer. Meeting rooms add a screen and a video-call camera. The planner above starts with this set ticked, so you only remove what you already have.
How much does office IT cost in Malaysia?
Computers are usually the largest part. At current PrinterBullet prices a business laptop is about RM 3,300–5,500, a firewall RM 1,500–3,900, a WiFi access point RM 400–1,000, a NAS RM 1,800–6,000 and an office printer RM 1,300–4,100. Cabling, CCTV, door access, licences and installation depend on the site, so we price them after a visit. Enter your staff count above to see a range for your office.
How many WiFi access points does an office need?
A good starting point is one ceiling access point per 12 staff or per 150 m², whichever gives more. Walls, glass partitions and multiple floors change this, which is why we confirm the count on the site visit.
When should IT be planned for a new office?
Before the renovation closes the ceiling and partitions. Network and CCTV cabling runs inside them, and adding it afterwards costs more and looks worse. If you have a move-in date, send the plan as early as you can and we will work to your contractor's schedule.
Who installs and supports it?
Ryzen eSolutions' own engineers install, configure and test everything before move-in, and can look after it afterwards under managed IT support. The hardware is supplied through our sister store PrinterBullet, so you get one team and one invoice.
