We design and run FortiGate deployments weekly — 60F-class units for branch offices up to mid-range clusters. IPS, web filtering and SSL inspection tuned against your real traffic, because the factory defaults inspect very little.
Rules with names and owners
Every rule states what it is for. Stale and shadowed rules get retired on a schedule. When an auditor asks why port 3389 is open to a vendor, the answer is written next to the rule.
Failover we test during office hours
Paired firewalls, and we fail them over deliberately while the office works. If a failover only works in theory, you do not have failover; you have a second firewall.
Renewals handled before they lapse
The day a security subscription expires, protection stops silently. Ours are tracked in the same system that tracks everything else we manage, with reminders that reach a human.
